Zdzisław Szubski – born on the 26th of January 1958 in Grudziądz, a Polish kayaker, a Moscow 1980 olympian, a World Championships medalist (1977 – 1981), an ex-trainer of 5 national representations (Portugal, Brazil, Greece, Chile, and Puerto Rico). Vice-president of Polish Canoe Federation responsible for logistics preparation of the Polish Team for the Olympic Games in TOKYO 2020

A Guinness Book of Records record holder, 1985, K2 968 km / 126.55 min non – stop the Wisła river- Poland, 1987 K1 252,900 km 24 hours the Wisła river – Poland, 2013 K20 40 m the Brda river – Poland.
After finishing his sporting career he began to work in Portugal (1986 – 1993) as a Head Coach, and participated with the representation in the Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. Between 1994 and 2004 he has participated, as a Head Coach of the representation of Brazil, in the Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Since 2005, the Head Coach of the national representation of Greece, participating in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Since 2010 the owner of the Riosport company. Between 2013 and 2015 the trainer of the national representation of Chile and a contestant from Puerto Rico with whom he has won the 4th place at the Moscow 2014 World Championship in the K1 200 m category.
He has brought up many competitors of the Olympic Games and medalists of the World and Europe Championships, Pan American Games and the Mediterranean Games.
The father of Sebastian Szubski – an Athens 2004 olympian.
